Nortel is preparing a revolutionary technology

Inside the mind of most Canadians, Nortel is synonymous with failure, disappointment, chaos and all kinds of horror stories that have plagued the business world in the past eight years. Formerly the beloved child of the North American exchange, the action Nortel has already transacted over $ 200, fell back, a few years later, less than a dollar.
The senior leaders who succeeded in recent years have all left the company in circumstances nebulae. Some of them have been accused of outright fraud. The last in the running, which is still in place, experienced a disastrous performance.Under his leadership, the action has fallen by 76%.The company has recorded losses of 844 million in its last quarter and more than 2000 jobs in North America were deleted.

And that's not a joke: the company, he was rewarded by raising his salary, which rose from $ 8.3 million in 2006 to $ 10.1 million last year. In short, many believe that Nortel should have disappeared long ago.

Leader
However, the company has always been recognized for being at the forefront in its field.Often, the company failed to choose the right direction, but it has always been a leader in the areas it had chosen to develop.
According to the Reuters news agency, Nortel will announce today a new technology that will allow telecommunications companies to quadruple the capacity of their network, without major changes in technology.

Thanks to a relatively inexpensive equipment, operators can transmit data at a speed of 40 gigabits per second, compared with 10 gigabytes at the moment. And Nortel claims that this is only a beginning since its objective is to 100 gigabits per second.
To better illustrate what this means, let us say that under current conditions (10 gigabits per second), a network is able to carry about 1000 channels of high-definition television at the same time.
In short, people believe that Nortel services on the Internet are set to undergo unprecedented development in the coming years and as a result, the large telecommunications companies will have to invest in order to increase their capacity.
