Extensible imaging OS
Content to let others duke it out in the PDA and cell-phone markets,
startup FlashPoint Technology is targeting its Digita OS for imaging products such as digital cameras, scanners, and
printers. Digita can host add-on software, and FlashPoint believes an
extensible OS will be popular for imaging products.
The company claims
Hewlett-Packard, Kodak, Minolta, and Seiko Epson are all working on
Digita-based products. Third parties can develop Digita applications using a
development system from Wind River Systems.
