Digital satellite radio test succeeds

Since we covered digital radio in September (see "Radio waves"), the technology has passed another milestone. Delphi Automotive Systems recently demonstrated one of the first mobile Satellite Digital Audio Receiver Service (SDARS) systems,

which successfully tuned in and played a signal from XM Satellite Radio. Delphi will supply radios for both the XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio services.
