The online refrigerator gets tested in real kitchens
The connected fridge has been the butt of many jokes, but now it’s getting a real-life trial in consumer kitchens. For five months, 50 Danish homes outside Copenhagen will be testing the Electrolux Screenfridge. Tele Danmark and e2 Home (a joint venture of Electrolux and Ericsson) aim to study customer reaction to electronic household services.
Participating households have WAP phones to access shopping lists stored in the Screenfridge, which has a built-in touch-screen and an always-on broadband link.
