Demo shows HDTV over an IP network
Convergence is all about a single data stream that carries voice, video, and data. But at the recent NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) show, 3Com took the concept to new extremes by demonstrating HDTV delivery over an IP network. The company used a standard NT server and
off-the-shelf 3Com 100-Mbit/sec Ethernet switch and interface cards to deliver HDTV to a receiver based on TeraLogic's Janus chip. The demonstration relied on streaming-video server and client software developed by the 3Com Convergence Lab and 2netFX.com.
