Voice-over-data gets less expensive
Now that large numbers of small businesses have broadband links, many are ready to take the next step: routing voice over those same links. But despite great promise, voice-over-data gear has still been a specialty (that is, pricey) commodity. VoX pioneer TollBridge Technologies is ready to change all that with the $1595 TB55 Integrated Access Device.
The TB55 supports voice, fax, and broadband data over a single SDSL (symmetrical DSL) link. Eight POTS (plain old telephone system) ports link the device to existing telephony and fax equipment, while an Ethernet port routes broadband data. The device works seamlessly with the TollBridge TB200 Voice Gateway, which many DSL service providers are deploying to offer voice services.
