Get fixed
Fixed-position wireless could reach the unreachable
For businesses, and potentially homes, that can't get cost-effective broadband because of their physical location, broadband via fixed-position wireless is moving closer to fruition. Nucentrix Broadband Networks has announced customer trials of such a service using Cisco's Vector Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing technology. Nucentrix will conduct a field trial in Austin,
TX, this April, followed by one in Amarillo in September. Nucentrix hopes to offer the service in 20 markets by the end of 2001.
